  • June 22 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Wrestling Politics today, Hardy & Doane are right, tons more~!

This week’s edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly w/Victor Sosa & Les Thatcher takes a look at some comments Matt Hardy and Ken Doane made this week (no, not THOSE Ken Doane comments) that Les feels are right on the money.  Also discussed: the head scratching shows that were Raw and Impact, is navigating the political landscape in today’s business tougher than learning how to work, a new favorite non wrestling TV show of Les’ worth watching and some questions from the board!  If it’s been as warm where you’re at as it has been where we are, we hope you can stay cool and enjoy the weekend!

  • June 15 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly w/special guest Alex Marvez~!

Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are joined by the one and only Alex Marvez, senior NFL writer for foxsports.com and frequent host on Sirius NFL radio.  Of course, Alex is on primarily to discuss his decision to end his nationally syndicated (in the USA) wrestling column and largely step away from covering wrestling after 23 years.  Alex spends 35 minutes discussing his reasons why, the differences between today’s product and the product he fell in love with and pinpoints the event that propelled him to a career in journalism that started with wrestling and led him to the NFL, and how the Wrestling Observer newsletter was central to that journey.  And a few NFL questions snuck in there, too.  From there, we talk Impact, RAW, PPV prediction game reviews (TNA) and picks for this Sunday’s WWE PPV, and Les tells us about HIS NEW JOB!!!!!

  • June 8 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Pouring BBQ Sauce on Raw & Impact, TNA PPV picks, more~!

It’s the weekend, which means the show worth at least 3 bottles of Good Ol’ JR’s BBQ Sauce is back!  Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly with Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher breaks out the sauce and dumps it all over Raw and Impact in an effort to make this week’s wrestling TV shows go down a little easier, but I gotta tell ya; these shows were tougher than a $2 steak!  We’ll also play the TNA PPV prediction game for Slammiversary this Sunday, answer some questions from the board, and announce a special guest for next week’s show!  If you haven’t already, we’d love for you to read a couple of nice articles about Les and a good friend of the program, Missy Hyatt. Read Greg Oliver’s piece on Les here, and see what JR had to say about Missy by clicking this.  Stop by our thread in the radio shows section of the board for some more cool stuff!

  • June 1 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Heyman, Orton, Joey Ryan, Board Q&A, much more~!

Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are back to review the week that was and as luck would have it, are probably the first show on the site to discuss the comments made recently by Paul Heyman on Twitter.  Les worries that young wrestlers will misinterpret those comments and in explaining his point you’ll get a great tale of how Jack Brisco nearly left the Florida territory (and very nearly the business altogether) before getting his big break.  Also up for discussion is Randy Orton’s suspension, Raw and the first live Impact on this 12 week run, Dr. Tom being replaced by Bill Demott in FCW, the cancellation of the NWA Legends Fanfest and some great questions from the board.  Stop by our thread in the radio shows section of the board for a few freebies and have a great weekend!

  • May 26 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Two days, one big show!

This one almost never made it to the site!  Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher put in TWO DAYS worth of work to get this edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly to you.  Of course, most of that was Vic’s fault, but let’s not assign blame now.  Just know when you hear the references to days of the week that the first 35 minutes were done on Friday afternoon and the rest of the show was done on Saturday morning.  Lots of good stuff including Les taking on Super Chico and his assessment of the Big Show angle, as well as the love for Impact on the B&V show, plenty on WWE, TNA’s lawsuit against WWE, Ric Flair’s status, and then the real good stuff begins when we get OLD SCHOOL.  What made the Mid Atlantic territory so great, why the NWA Legends fanfest in Charlotte this August is always awesome, and some great Pillman show memories from an different perspective.  As always, please enjoy, have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend (for those who celebrate it) and visit our thread in the radio shows section of the board for a little bit more!

  • May 19 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: 3 Hours of Raw, Show fired angle, TNA going live, much more~!

So much news that we needed MUCH MORE than the usual hour for this week’s edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly!  Victor Sosa, Les Thatcher and Will Strause spend over 90 minutes in this mega episode talking all the news, and the biggest stories which broke in the last day or so regarding Raw moving to 3 hours and TNA going live on Thursday nights.  There’s also plenty on the Big Show firing angle from Raw, where it’s going and why a great quarter hour for that and the John Cena segment didn’t mean much to Les, results of the TNA PPV prediction game along with WWE Over the Limit predictions, Les clears up a remark he made last week regarding his commentary prep time when he does shows these days, and a major announcement from Will Strause at the end of the show.  Have a great weekend and feel free to visit our thread in the radio shows section of the board for some extras and to let us know what you think!

  • May 12 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Cena Divorce, TNA PPV Predictions, Board Q&A, more~!

Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are back a little earlier than usual!  I think it was because Les was so excited to play the TNA PPV prediction game for Sacrifice on Sunday!  Well, maybe not.  But we did that anyway, along with discussion about John Cena’s impending divorce, which leads into talk about a wrestler’s life and the insecurities that can come with it from a relationship perspective.  Also some talk on Raw, Paul Heyman, the disturbing ratings trend from Monday’s show.  Some other things that got a mention: King Mo and his TNA/Bellator deal, this weekend’s EVOLVE and ROH iPPV’s, and Les answered a couple of great questions from the board!  Feel free to visit the Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly Thread in the radio shows section of the board for a couple of extras, and please take care of Mom as best you can on Mother’s Day!!!!!

  • Cinco De Mayo Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Lesnar, Bryan, Developmental & more~!

A damn good edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly if we do say so ourselves!  Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher discuss the week that was for WWE; specifically the decisions made regarding Brock Lesnar losing at Extreme rules.  Les tells us how and why he would’ve booked things differently.  Also, we’ll look at the logic of beating Daniel Bryan on the PPV and again on Smackdown, then expecting you to pay money to see him wrestle CM Punk on the next PPV, and Les will share his thoughts on how to present Bryan between now and then.  From there, some quick TNA talk, including a chuckle at the idea that they need MORE TV TIME.  And then things get GREAT.  There’s a heartbreakingly facinating facebook post from an FCW wrestler named Brian McGhee that Dave quotes in the latest Observer.  We’ll talk about what he wrote regarding the way he’s being treated by his trainers since he’s been injured, and then Les shares some great stuff in explaining how he can sympathize not only with Mr. McGhee, but with the things the trainers might be going through as well.  We’ll finish off by giving you a little something extra that you should’ve heard last week, but we’re hoping you’ll enjoy today just the same.  Enjoy your cinco de mayo parties, and please be safe!

  • Apr. 21 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly:Lots from Cauliflower Alley, Lessons for young workers, more~!

Live from the gas station, it’s Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly!  Victor Sosa, Will Strause and Les Thatcher are back and talking a lot about Les’ trip to Las Vegas for the Cauliflower Alley Club event.  That discussion and a couple of questions for the board make up about 75% of the show. We caught Will en route to making some big ca$h at an indie show (he refused to cut us in, by the way), so he’s only present for the first quarter of the show.  In that time, we discussed HAIRCUTS~!, a little bit on Raw, and the future of Eric B….well, I’m not sure we can say his full name without being bleeped.  You’re always welcome to stop by our thread in the radio shows section of the board to share your thoughts and pick up a few extras as well!

  • April 14 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Brock/Cena, Clutter, Angry Emails, Board Q&A, more~!

Will Strause is away on business, so Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher return to review the week that brought legitimacy back to the WWE!  Unfortunately, it did not bring back more viewers.  That is among the topics discussed today, along with whether it’s too soon to book Brock in a match, and lots of other Brock/Cena related material. Les talks a bit about the discussion of clutter on last week’s Raw which came up in our thread on the board, as well as an interesting email he received thanks to our discussion of Planet Fitness.  We answer a few questions from the board too, and wrap with some more about Les’ trip to Las Vegas this week for the Cauliflower Alley Club reunion.  You can check out their site at www.caulifloweralleyclub.org.  Also, feel free to share your thoughts with us in our thread in the radio shows section of the f4w board and get a few extras too!
