  • Dec 1 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Mind boggling booking, Cornette on sabbatical & much more~!

Despite Vic’s HUGE Powerball win, he still reported for duty with Les Thatcher here on Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly.  You’re welcome.  Now that I’ve gotten my Perry Saturn impression out of the way, topics covered include that horrendous rating for Raw’s 3rd hour, the passing of Buddy Roberts, trios back in Les’ day, the need for good veterans and/or managers to work in the big leagues with young talent, why on earth WWE would book Cena to beat Ziggler and TNA booked Hogan to reward Aries, Jim Cornette’s “sabbatical” and how times change, even if people don’t.  Have a great weekend, and thanks for listening~!

  • Nov. 23 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Thanksgiving in Greensboro, Dean Ambrose, Cena/Ziggler, more~!

A longer than usual edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly to go along with the long lines you may have waited on for Black Friday!  Les Thatcher and Victor Sosa spend some time talking about Dean Ambrose, who Les had the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time working with before he made it to WWE.  You’ll also hear out takes on the Cena/Ziggler/AJ/Vickie fiasco, Titus on commentary and a little Impact talk before we close things out by going OLD SCHOOL.  A fun ending as we discuss Thanksgiving shows at the Greensboro Coliseum that Les was a part of, why those shows worked, some of the talent on the shows and a wacky tag team for anyone who grew up watching TBS Saturday nights at 6:05.  Enjoy the show and have a great weekend~!

  • Nov. 15 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Lawler/Punk, Curious Ratings Pattern, Impact and more~!

Les is hitting the road for a holiday field trip, so he and Victor Sosa bring Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly to you a little earlier than usual!  Les weighs in on the Jerry Lawler return angle that’s got everyone talking.  We’ll also discuss the interesting ratings pattern on the night involving CM Punk, the entire Raw show in general and find out if Les has any personal memories regarding angles that offended viewers in the territory days.  Impact spoilers for tonight’s episode are discussed, so if you don’t want to know, go from 41:16 to 51:34 to skip that…but you’ll be missing out on some hilarity.  We close with the Survivor Series prediction game for this Sunday!  We won’t be back until Black Friday so we wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all who will be celebrating!

  • Nov. 10 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Brad Armstrong, HOF, Sandy, and much more~!

Light & heat have returned to Vic’s house, so Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly has got their power back!  Vic & Les discuss some of the escapades surrounding the week Sandy hit and what hundreds of thousands of people in Vic’s area are still unfortunately going through; from no power, to long lines for fuel, many still not being allowed back in their homes by the government, etc.  No bueno.  However, in between that stuff, you’ll find plenty of gems, most notably Les’ thoughts on the late Brad Armstrong, the Observer HOF from a different angle, as well as Raw and Impact, which Les enjoyed greatly.  Well no, not really.  Not at all, in fact.  But we do hope you enjoy this week’s show~!  Feel free to check our thread on the board for the usual extras, as well as a link or two where you can help people recover from Sandy if you wish.

  • Oct. 26 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Live from Raw, Eddie Graham = Genius & more~!

Since we don’t have the fancy thought reading cameras owned by Spike TV, you’ll just have to listen to Victor Sosa & Les Thatcher’s thoughts on the week that was in pro wrestling.  Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly features Vic’s thoughts on being live at Raw and a WWE house show this week, as well as Les’s take on that, Impact, the PPV prediction game for Hell in the Cell, and some great stories that came from our discussion of Eddie Graham, who was prominently featured in the piece on Mike Graham in this week’s Observer.  If you’re in the path of Hurricane Sandy, please be careful, and have a great weekend!

  • Oct. 19 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly with special guest Lance Storm~!

Les Thatcher and Victor Sosa called on their favorite tag team partner today, as we are joined by none other than Lance Storm~!  Les and Lance discuss the value of the journeyman wrestler these days (and journeyman is not at all an insult), and why these men are undervalued commodities on the WWE scene today.  Also discussed: Les’ weekend at his most recent camp, the need for more WWE programming (not really) and the almost “anti wrestling” attitude that seems to pervade the top of the US wrestling companies today, as well as the direction of TNA following Bound For Glory, and a couple of questions from the board~!  Please enjoy and have a great weekend!

  • Oct. 6 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Aces & Eights Hilarity, Low Raw Rating, Training Secrets, more~

Back from a great weekend in Nashville, Les Thatcher is ready to go!  Les and Victor Sosa bring you another fine edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly!  Among the topics today: the scary low Raw rating, why Aces & Eights isn’t working out, and piggybacking off of Lance Storm’s article and FFD show this week with regards to pinfalls, some other things that drive Les nuts.  Plus, our esteemed leader Doc Young wants you to know that the WrestlingWeekly.com archive containing almost every show from 2005 to 2008 is online at this link: http://www.masiweb.net/wwarchive, so please feel free to enjoy some Wrestling Weekly history~!

  • Sept 22 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Back & Better Than Ever~!

After spending last weekend at a wrestling camp in Edmonton, Les Thatcher rejoins Victor Sosa for another edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly!  We talk about Edmonton weekend, getting a little extra help at camp from Lance Storm, and a seemingly harmless comment about tag team matches and a drill Les does at camp sparks a great chat about an important part of the business today, why it’s lacking and the ripple effect of that lack.  We hope you enjoy the show and have a wonderful weekend!

  • Sept 9 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Les’ WON HOF Ballot~!

Lots of cool stuff on Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly, as Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher make their predictions for this Sunday’s TNA PPV, as well as talk Raw and Impact. But the main event here is all about Les and the Observer Hall of Fame.  We’ll talk about most of the folks Les voted for, if he’s surprised certain people aren’t already in, why voting for a wrestling Hall of Fame can be trickier than other HOF’s, and answer more questions from the board!  Quick note: there will be no show next week (Les will explain during the show), so we hope you have a great next couple of weeks before we return~!

  • Aug. 31 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly End of Summer BLOWOUT~!

Labor Day weekend has arrived, but Victor Sosa & Les Thatcher put in a little more work before calling it a weekend!  This show gets going with talk about this week’s Raw, and evolves into discussing heat…specificially, where it’s gone and some of the reasons it’s seems to be a rarity these days.  A great question from the board along with the opinion that Luscious Johnny Valiant stated in a recent article took us in that direction, and it’s a fun discussion!  There’s also Impact talk, and we’ll see if Vic can convince Les to hit the WAFFLE HOUSE on his next trip down south.  We hope you all have a great weekend, and if you’re stateside enjoying Labor Day, have fun & be safe!
