I couldn’t resist using that headline. In any event, Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher (who is reclining in Manhattan Beach, CA all hour long) return for another sterling edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly! Plenty of WWE talk on Raw, Summerslam, the new WWE talent recruitment website and its potential pitfalls on this show. Also, Impact discussion on Aces & Eight’s, the end of the Claire Lynch angle, and yes, Les has in fact worked with Times Square’s famed NAKED COWBOY~! Imagine the photoshop fun you could have with that idea. You’ll get that story and so much more if you give this show a listen.

Aug 18 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly w/special guest Jeff Sharkey~!
Better late than never, as after being down for the count on Friday, Victor Sosa got out of his sickbed to join Les Thatcher and our special guest, wrestling historian and writer for the Cauliflower Alley newsletter, Jeff Sharkey for this week’s show. Vic and Les spend the first half of the show talking Raw and how Brock Lesnar must be training for the 2016 Olympics as a sprinter with all the running he’s been doing from HHH, Impact, where Vic anxiously awaits the inevitable guest appearance from Maury Povich, and then we make our Summerslam predictions! At that point, Jeff joins us to discuss his take on the sights, sounds, and Kurt Angle related shenanigans at the Tragos/Thesz Pro Wrestling HOF in Iowa last month, along with his writing duties for the CAC newsletter and a few other things as well! We apologize for the delay this week, and we hope you enjoy!

Aug. 10 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Raw, Nash trolling the board, TNA PPV picks, more~!
The vacation continues, but Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher interrupt their sabbaticals once more to bring you another edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly! The vacation scoreboard now reads, Vic & Les 2, Lance Storm 1. It’s the only time Vic will ever go over on Lance, so cut us some slack! Good stuff today including some discussion of Raw, how seasoned WWE pros did something TWICE that Les actually discussed at his weekend training camp…except Les told his young charges NOT to do this and why. We’ll spend some time on Kevin Nash, though not nearly as much as he’d probably like. There’s actually a cool story in there about Les meeting Big Kev back when he played hoops for Tennessee. We’ll play the TNA PPV prediction game for this Sunday’s Hardcore Justice, and wrap by answering a question from the board about the MACHO MAN, Randy Savage~!

Aug. 3 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Worth it just for Jack Palance & the WAFFLE HOUSE~!
Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are both on vacation, but that didn’t stop them from delivering another fine edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly…though it may have stopped them from staying focused. An update on Doc Young gets us started, followed by a few fun tangents about great tv and movie heels, eating at the southern institution known as the Waffle House, and chest hair shaved into mushroom clouds. And believe it or not, quite a bit about wrestling. On a serious note, our leader Doc Young needs several procedures insurance will not cover. If you’re willing and able, stop by Paypal and use docyoung999@hotmail.com to help out.

July 26 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Raw 1000, CM Punk’s future, How Les became a trainer, more~!
Lively discussion today with Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher about Raw 1000! Specifically, the feel of the company at times, how CM Punk finds himself in familiar territory this summer, Brock Lesnar not being presented as a bigger deal than he has been and the future of AJ and the GM position in general. Then, Les gives us some more detail on how and why he decided to become a pro wrestling trainer, which led to him opening up his school and the HWA, the satisfaction it gives him to work with those seeking to master their craft, and why if you’re a young wrestler, you should get down to one of his weekend camps/seminars. Plus, a special shoutout to a listener who went the extra mile for our resident legend.

July 20 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: 3 Hours of Raw, Cena Failure, where were you in 1984, more~!
A happy weekend in the Thatcher household as Les’ TV rides again! Issues prevented Les from having any TV yesterday, but that doesn’t stop Vic and Les from talking Impact, the upcoming 3 hour Raw, is John Cena the right guy to fail to cash in the MITB briefcase, 1984 Mid Atlantic wrestling and where was Les when all this was going on, plus your questions from the board~!
-
July 13 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: The Sheik, Bruiser Brody, Funks/Briscos, riots and much more~!
Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are heavy on the ol’ school this week, mostly because Vic is tired of seeing AJ; well, he’ll never be tired of actually seeing AJ Lee, but tired of her push as the central figure in the WWE title angle. So, there’s lots of time devoted to tales like: riding Dick the Bruiser’s motorcycle, being ribbed into embarrassing The Sheik before a match, and did Les ever witness legit heat between the Funks & Briscos. We finished up answering your questions from the board, which led to talk about Bruiser Brody, Dr. Sam Sheppard(!), and riots that Les had the unfortunate occasion to be caught in the middle of, and we snuck in our Money In The Bank PPV predictions as well. We hope you enjoy the show and have a great weekend!

July 6 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly with LANCE STORM~!
Terrific stuff this week (if we do say so ourselves) as Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are joined by Lance Storm for the entire show! We will touch on Impact and play the Destination X PPV prediction game, but if you’re looking for a detailed rundown of the week’s tv shows, then you should probably keep it movin’. However, you’re in the right place if you want to hear about Lance’s take on the ROH tapings last week, Storm/Bennett III, a far worse injury Chris Jericho nearly suffered before breaking his arm in Smokey Mountain Wrestling, the influence Brian Pillman had on Lance’s career, training Dolph Ziggler (and lecturing him about those crazy bumps), working with Terry Funk, watching Dick Murdoch and Bullet Bob Armstrong captivate a crowd for 10 minutes….well, by not taking crazy bumps. We hope you enjoy the weekend and that Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly is a big part of that for you!

June 30 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: DOC YOUNG’S TRIUMPHANT RETURN~!
Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher return a day later than usual because Vic RISKED HIS LIFE to get to the ROH TV tapings in Baltimore Friday night. We’ll talk about certain things on the show, but no specific results spoilers here (you’re welcome). Also discussed: Les celebrating the 52nd anniversary of his first ever match on July 4th, memories of the occasion, why he made the decision to get out of the ring at the 20 year mark, more on his new gig with WCA, plus a quick plug about our guest next week. All that however, is not the main event. The Main Event opens the show as after nearly 11 months away, our fearless leader has returned! DOC YOUNG stops in for the first 20 minutes of the show with an important declaration, an update on his status as an ACTUAL DOCTOR and talks in detail about the health challenges he’s faced since we last heard from him. Seriously awesome stuff and a triumph that the man is with us after all he’s been through. If you’d like to keep up with Doc, go here: http://www.facebook.com/docyoung and show him some love!
