Victor Sosa rejoins Will Strause and Les Thatcher for this week’s show which (thankfully) doesn’t spend a whole lot of time on WWE, although Les helpfully points out an item they’re selling that should really be moving off the shelves on their site. We’ll also touch on Kamala’s health woes, ROH and some of the tv related things they need from Sinclair to gain any traction, Impact and the PPV prediction game for Turning Point on Sunday night. You didn’t know there was a TNA PPV Sunday? Don’t worry; it’s been booked like they didn’t know either. Show kind of goes off the rails at that point, thanks to Will’s wacky predictions and Les channeling some Russo-riffic booking ideas.

Oct. 28 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: TNA, memories of working in Macon, what’s wrong with WWE, more
Will Strause has returned to join Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher for the BIRTHDAY EDITION of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly! Les turned 71 today, and managed to pull himself away from the booze and the strippers long enough to do the show. He is, in fact, a great man. We talked TNA (SPOILER ALERT: skip from 10:40 through 13:26 to avoid it) namely, a couple of unanswered questions as to why some characters are still on tv, and why another who’s never wrestled got so much tv time, which actually morphs into a great discussion of the importance of veterans chewing out young guys back in the day. Also, a good story about Les working in Macon, Georgia with Bobby Shane, one of the best heels most of us never saw and why the feud never made it around the Georgia territory. Plus, Vic has had all he can stand and finally asks what the hell has happened to Vince McMahon?

Oct. 22 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Doc update, Lots on TNA, WWE PPV Preview, T-Shirts~!
No, you don’t get a t-shirt for listening, but you will get a cool story about how the wrestling t-shirt business got started. Will Strause remains on assignment, so Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher discuss the aforementioned history lesson on how wrestling shirts came to be, along with all the week’s tv offerings from ROH, WWE & a lot of TNA discussion. Championships may not matter in TNA (or almost anywhere else, really), but Vic will tell you why he feels TNA sent the message that the one thing they do care about, their tv show, doesn’t matter either. There’s also an update on Doc, tales of running the roads of Charlotte with Jerry Brisco and the Vengeance PPV predictions!
Please note a couple of things: there’s some TNA spoiler talk that is not prefaced by a SPOILER ALERT, so if you don’t want to know, skip from 21:14 to 21:59. Also, Doc very much appreciates any words of encouragement you want to share with him, and you can reach him at docyoung999@hotmail.com!

Oct. 15 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: WWE, ROH, Memphis Heat, TNA BFG Predictions, and much more~!
With Will Strause out with a flu bug, it’s Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher callling the show on the fly this week. Among the items discussed: as little WWE as possible after a wretched Raw, another strong week for ROH, and Bound For Glory PPV predictions. Also, Les clears up an issue regarding something Jerry Jarrett said in the “Memphis Heat” documentary, some history regarding the building TNA’s last two TV shows were taped at, working for Pro Wrestling Hall of Famer Angelo Savoldi as part of a commentary team with Lou Thesz, an incredible compliment Thesz gave Les, and a VERY IMPORTANT REQUEST MADE OF MISSY HYATT. Get your mind out of the gutter, people!

Oct. 8 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Les vs. HHH & Dave Meltzer in a handicap match, & more~!
Well, now we’ve gone and done it. If Les isn’t here next week, you’ll know why after you listen to this show. Will Strause, Victor Sosa and the aforementioned Les Thatcher discuss ROH, the improved focus of TNA, and from there, WWE’s “no confidence” angle and the article in the most recent Observer featuring quotes from HHH straight from WWE magazine. Les not only cuts an impassioned promo about what HHH had to say, but takes on Big Dave Meltzer himself, and talks about why he believes one specific and important thing Dave said is off the mark and why. Along the way, there are some fascinating stories about why Steamboatmania never ran wild in WWE, & Les very nearly donning the tuxedo in Stamford for Saturday morning interviews. All hype aside, Les delivers some MUST LISTEN STUFF here.

Sept 24 Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Producing Wrestling TV, Raw, Characters vs. Personality, More!
Not even a power outage at Vic’s house could prevent Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly from making it up on the site! Apologies if you were expecting this a little earlier; the aformentioned power outage delayed the posting of this week’s show. Nevertheless, Will Strause, Victor Sosa & Les Thatcher are here to discuss the major happenings on the week’s wrestling tv shows. In addition, Les will explain why X Factor really does have some correlation to good pro wrestling television, a bit on Jim Cornette’s comments regarding wrestling “characters” vs. personalities, whether or not the great Gordon Solie partied on the job and producing/booking/formatting Southeastern Championship Wrestling in the 70’s & if it was different when he did the same for his own HWA over 20 years later.

September 16 edition of Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly: Raw, Rock/Cena teaming up, Announcing & more!
Doc Young’s Wrestling Weekly is back a little ahead of schedule! Speaking of schedules, it was a one week change in Vic’s schedule which caused the show to be done Friday night instead of Saturday afternoon, so there’s very little Smackdown talk on this program. First and most importantly, though, is an update on Doc Young. To learn a little more on what Doc is up against please click here:
http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/gbs/detail_gbs.htm
We would also greatly appreciate you sending Doc sending any positive vibes, emails or prayers you can. From there, Will Strause, Victor Sosa & Les Thatcher cover lots of ground regarding Punk/HHH at Night of Champions, Rock & John Cena likely teaming up at Survivor Series, America’s Got Talent (!), and this week, Professor Thatcher takes us to school on the art of announcing. Trust me, this is not to be missed. 99 minutes of great discussion and a little learning to start the weekend!

September 10 Wrestling Weekly: Punk, HHH, Lots o’Smackdown, TNA PPV Predictions, more
Will Strause is out on the town, but Victor Sosa and Les Thatcher are here to make sure you get PLENTY of wrestling talk this weekend. And I do mean plenty; we got going, time flew by and before we knew it, you had the perfect show for a long workout or Sunday drive. The main angle on Raw with Punk & HHH is covered, a lot of Smackdown talk, thoughts on Jeff Hardy’s return, PPV predictions for TNA’s No Surrender, and a teaser for what will be the main topic of discussion for next week’s show! 101 minutes.

September 3rd Wrestling Weekly: Raw, SD!, Sting, & a lesson in Running the Ropes
With Doc Young still out, Will Strause, Les Thatcher & Victor Sosa are back to discuss the week that was in wrestling! We’ll discuss the main angle on Raw, what Vic doesn’t understand about it (which is a lot), what Les would’ve tweaked it to make it more effective & his thoughts on the Smackdown contract signing. Also, Impact in Hunstville, whether or not Sting’s change in persona has caught on with the masses, and a lesson from Professor Thatcher in running the ropes. Seriously, class is in session with the how’s & why’s of executing it properly, and what can go wrong if you don’t. And a couple of GREAT stories about learning to run them and the importance of learning to call matches in the ring as opposed to pre-planning everything. Good listening for the holiday weekend! 64 minutes.
