  • WWE Raw 10-19: Superstar lineup does little for ratings

Adding Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair to Raw last night only bumped the number up to 3.35 million viewers, up 80,000 viewers from the non-holiday low of 3.27 million set last week.

The New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles game with the Star Wars trailer did 13.90 million viewers, up 14 percent from last week, but it was lower than the game two weeks away, on a week Raw did essentially the same audience (3.37 million viewers) as last night.  But last night also had the Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays playoff game, that was expected to do monster numbers in Canada.  However, that doesn’t relate to the U.S. number, as the game did less than Raw in the U.S., with 3.09 million viewers, down 47 percent from last week’s St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs game and 22 percent from the late Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets game.

The audience fell as the show went on, which should have been expected when the big guns, Austin, Undertaker, Lesnar and John Cena were all used in the first 30 minutes and none returned the rest of the show.

    The three hours were

    8 p.m. 3.60 million viewers

    9 p.m. 3.35 million viewers

    10 p.m. 3.12 million viewers

  • WWE Raw Ratings 10-12: Breaks 17 year record low

The combination of NFL football and baseball playoffs, combined with a less-than-interesting product in recent weeks, saw Raw fall to a new non-holiday low of 3.27 million viewers last night.  The only episode of the show since 1997 that did worse was a Christmas Eve show in 2012 that did 3.14 million viewers.

The main culprit was the combination of a Pittsburgh Steelers vs. San Diego Chargers game on ESPN that did 12.18 million viewers, a lower number than football has done the last few weeks, and baseball.  TBS aired the Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals against the first half of Raw, which did 5.78 million viewers.  They aired the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets against the second half of Raw, which did 3.96 million viewers.

    The three hours were:

    8 p.m. 3.52 million viewers

    9 p.m. 3.25 million viewers

    10 p.m. 3.08 million viewers

  • TNA and ROH Wednesday night ratings 10-7

TNA’s follow-up to Bound for Glory on Wednesday night produced its best ratings numbers since September 9th.

The beginning of the TNA title tournament did 335,000 viewers for the first-run Destination America episode and 112,000 for the replay. The replay was the second best replay number since the show moved to Wednesday at midnight.

Ring of Honor did 175,000 viewers for their Field of Honor episode from MCU Field in Brooklyn featuring a Kazuchika Okada vs. Roderick Strong main event. It was the company’s best number ever in the 11 PM EST time slot.

    Here’s a look at last week’s ratings.

  • WWE Raw Ratings 10-5: Numbers remain the same

Raw last night did 3.37 million viewers, slightly up from the 3.32 million viewers last week. Last week was the lowest non-holiday rating for Raw since October of 1997 when there was head-to-head competition from Nitro. All five shows since Labor Day have done between 3.32 million and 3.4 million viewers, so if nothing else, the audience is consistent.

The big competition, a Monday Night Football game between the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions, drew 14.40 million viewers which was up from the prior week of 13.52 million viewers.

    The three hours were:

    8 p.m. 3.47 million viewers
    9 p.m. 3.49 million viewers
    10 p.m. 3.17 million viewers

  • TNA, ROH & UFC Wednesday night ratings (September 30)

The news for last night’s ratings weren’t good for pro wrestling.

Impact last night in the 9 p.m. time slot did 275,000 viewers, slightly up from 272,000 last week, but still the fourth lowest since the move to Wednesday.  The midnight replay did 69,000 viewers.  The show was the go-home show for Bound for Glory, headlined by Drew Galloway & Matt Hardy vs. Ethan Carter III & Tyrus.

ROH did 127,000 viewers  for a show headlined by Shinsuke Nakamura vs.Adam Cole.  It is the second lowest number for ROH since getting on Destination America.

Ultimate Fighter last night did 538,000 viewers.

  • TNA & ROH Wednesday night ratings (September 23)

There was good and bad news on the ratings for TNA and ROH on DestinationAmerica.

The audience tuned in later than usual, as the ROH show at 11 p.m. did 168,000 viewers, nearly double the previous week, and the best in that time slot since July 29.

TNA at 9 p.m. did 272,000 viewers, its second lowest to date.

The TNA midnight replay did 122,000 viewers, the best replay number to date.

That seems to mean that a lot of the people who tuned into ROH than usually don’t also stay with TNA.

It would appear “Empire” on FOX may tell the story, since nothing else on television in the 9-11 p.m. time slot did numbers out of the ordinary enough to change regular viewing patterns.

  • WWE announces loaded go-home show for Hell in a Cell pay-per-view

With WWE ratings at historic lows, the company has announced a loaded up go-home show for Hell in a Cell.

The final Raw before the PPV, on October 19th from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX, has announced a lineup for the show that includes Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair along with Hell in a Cell headliners Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. With the go-home Raw being in Dallas, and it being the final show in the market until WrestleMania, it is expected that significant WrestleMania 32 news will come out of that event.

Raw on Monday, September 21st, drew just 3.34 million viewers, down from the 3.39 million that the show drew the week prior. Worse, the show lost viewers as it went on, finishing with just 3.26 million in the third hour. John Cena defending the WWE United States Title versus Seth Rollins was the main event.

Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match headlines the October 19th PPV.

  • WWE Raw Ratings 9-21: Record Low results

Raw set a new record low last night with 3.34 million viewers, down slightly from the 3.39 million last week and 3.37 million the week before.

The shows represent the three lowest audiences for Raw aside from a July 4th or a Christmas or New Year’s Eve dating back to 1997.

While expected that football would hurt numbers this fall and send them to some record lows, this has been worse than expected.

The New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts game did 12.48 million viewers, down from the prior week, but it was the New York market and that’s a traditional strong WWE market where the home team will hurt Raw ratings worse than any other market.

Another difference is the second hour was no longer the highest.  The first hour saw the initial 30 minutes before the game kicked off which gives it an edge now.

    The three hours were:

    8 p.m. 3.42 million viewers 9 p.m. 3.37 million viewers 10 p.m. 3.26 million viewers

Bellator on Saturday night did 800,000 viewers, also a major disappointment, going against a plethora of college football games.

  • WWE Raw ratings (9/14) still at low levels

    By Dave Meltzer, WrestlingObserver.com

2015’s Q4 may be a long one for WWE as the Monday, September 14th edition of Monday Night Raw did 3.39 million viewers, almost identical to the record non-major holiday low of the past 18 years of 3.37 million the prior week.

The rating should have been up because last week’s rating was caused by a show that caused massive audience tuning out late, and was also hurt by Labor Day.

This week’s show went against the regular season doubleheader debut of ESPN’s Monday Night Football which did big numbers. The early game (Falcons vs. Eagles) that ended at 10:17 p.m. did 13.56 million viewers while the late game (49ers vs. Vikings) that started at 10:17 p.m. did 14.33 million viewers.

For Raw, the three hours were:

    – 8 p.m. 3.29 million viewers

    – 9 p.m. 3.54 million viewers

    – 10 p.m. 3.36 million viewers

  • Wednesday Night Wars (9/9): TNA has big night on Destination America

Ratings for Wednesday on Destination America:

    – Impact at 9 p.m. drew 353,000 viewers, its best number in two months, which is a positive sign for the GFW turn angle

    – Despite two title matches, ROH at 11 p.m. did 138,000 viewers, its lowest number since switching to the new time slot.

    – Impact at midnight did 96,000 viewers, also its best total in two months.
